James grew up in the small town of Sassafras before moving to Latrobe, where he attended Latrobe High school, and later Don College. His first experience in sales was door to door sales, selling security systems in Tasmania and commission only – at the tender age of just 18! He then moved to the Gold Coast where he lived for 10 years working as a salesperson for some of Australia’s major electronic retail chains, while studying and teaching martial arts at the same time!

After being away and travelling the world he has been living back in Tasmania for the past ten years, having settled down to raise his family. He truly believes that we do live in the best place in the world. James certainly subscribes to the sentiment that “the best journey takes us home!”
